Lovin' It!

I've been getting right on top of flowers lately and enjoying the results of the blown out nature of the images I'm getting. I took my brother's puppy for a walk yesterday and this is one of my favorite shots from our adventure. I got a bunch more that look really unreal. I'm awesomely stoked on this one though.

Under the wire

I took this picture a few weeks ago in my friend Josh's grandma's garden. I like that the foreground and background are blurred.

Orange Flowers

I took this picture at the Getty about a year and a half ago with my old camera. A tiny little point and shoot camera that got lost. Looking at it now, it's not that great but I really like the composition of it.

Purple Flowers

So, I'm contemplating doing some sort of 1x365 project wherein I post a photo everyday. I don't know how great they'll all be but I think I owe it to myself to give it a go and see if I can stick to it. Hopefully, I'll be a champ and get all the way through June 7, 2010 having posted 365 photos. We shall see. Wish me luck.

Bird with Three Heads

The other day I went to for a quick walk to the liquor store to grab some bottles of Guinness for some Chocolate Stout Cakes I need(ed) to make. I noticed these crazy, HUGE black Bird of Paradise type flowers growing out of some palm trees. I made a point of making sure I made it back around the corner to get some pictures of them since they were so cool looking. Especially for the fact that 3 flowers grow out of one spot and it looks like a bird with three heads. As for the Guinness, I left my ID at home and couldn't buy it. I ended up buying some other beer. I may end up blogging about them. I have to try them first though.

Yellow Rose

This is a picture I took with my Canon EOS 300 SLR. It's one of my mother's rose bushes she has lining the side wall of her house. My mom has several really well tended rose bushes around the house. Roses remind me of my grandmother. I don't really know why, but they do. I really like this picture. It's one of my favorite mostly because it was a happy accident and I'm sure I took about 15 pictures of Charlie in the middle of shooting the flowers.

I took this picture about a year and a half ago at the Getty. This is actually the corner of another picture that I may or may not post. I'm leaning towards not.

"Lily of the Nile"

Agapanthus africanus in front of the house. I hate these stupid flowers but I liked the way it looked against the sidewalk with the water spots from my dad watering the grass.
